Created in 1957, this magnificent Saarinen Tulip Table envelopes the thought and theory behind one of the 20th century's great industrial designers. The Saarinen Table has become one of the most recognizable furniture pieces of the modern classic era. Constructed of cast aluminum, the Saarinen table flows from top to bottom and from side to side in a fluid exchange of lines. Saarinen used a variety of bases and tops for various interiors during his career. The Saarinen table shown here is a favorite as it can be used in a variety of spaces, but is most commonly used as a dining table.

Eero Saarinen’s design of the General Motors Technology Center in 1948 exhibited his own style, but also the influence of Mies van der Rohe.  The extensive use of glass and steel was still extremely modern for architecture.  Saarinen was responsible for not only the architecture but the interiors as well.  Giving this master the ability to coordinate the lighting, furniture, urban design and architecture allowed for a harmonious design that is now considered a masterpiece of modernism similar to the Tulip Table.

This Saarinen tulip table has a lacquered cast aluminum base in white or black and stands 28 1/4" in height. The Saarinen table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. Saarinen table stone tops are protected with a natural wax finish
